Our Love Story
First Date
December 2021
Our first date was on a Sunday morning at 9 AM at Higher Ground Coffee in Calgary. With busy schedules ahead—Rianne with a work stretch and Julius heading to Winnipeg for the holidays—this was the only time that worked. Julius, unsure of how things would go, planned to keep it to just an hour. Despite the time cap, it ended up being a memorable start.
First Trip
May 2022
Our first trip was to Julius' hometown of Winnipeg, where Rianne met his family and friends for the first time. Julius also showed Rianne the sights of what he called "the greatest city in the world."
Move to Barcelona
June 2023
Our move to Barcelona was the perfect opportunity for both of us to fulfill our dream of living abroad. With Julius able to work remotely and Rianne starting her Master's program, the timing couldn't have been better. Julius' previous visits to Spain had already convinced him it was the ideal place to live. Together, we embraced a new adventure in this vibrant city and made some lifelong friends.
Enagagement
February 2024
Julius proposed to Rianne on our terrace in our apartment in Barcelona, making it an intimate and unforgettable moment. Afterwards, we continued the celebration with our favorite activity—doing escape rooms and a dinner. We celebrated by taking our engagement photos at Parc Güell, surrounded by the city's beauty.
